Lockdown was such a difficult time for lots of people, but for Mark it was especially painful. He was so angry.

I booked tickets to see Van Morrison live at Audley End 6 months before the concert, a total act of faith. He refused to believe we would be able to go right up to a few days before.

But we did. It was the most joyous occasion, a party in a park, everyone revelling in unaccustomed freedom and happy to be in community. We sang and danced, Mark entertained loads of strangers as always, and of course at the end he carried home the straw bale we'd sat on, past slightly bemused stewards!
